‘Mwini Zinthu’ Fame ‘Blaze’ Shines At Ovation Fusion Food & Music Festival

“Mwini Zinthu” fame, Blaze over the weekend thrilled Lilongwe fans at Ovation Fusion Food & Music Festival with an outstanding performance of Mwini Zinthu and has since promised a new single.


The Blantyre based artist, sent fans wild on Sunday night at the festival when they heard the artist introducing his Mwinizinthu hit and was requested by fans to sing it repeatedly then later called back on stage to sing Mwini Zinthu again.












Blaze who performed along with big names in Malawi music industry including Lulu, Edgar and Davis and Gides Chalamanda, said was equally excited to perform at the Festival which offered him an opportunity to have a first time performance at a very big stage.

“Its been a great time for me.” He said “Apart from the fact that I have shared the state with great people like Edgar and Davis, Gides Chalamanda and Lulu, but this has been my first time to perform at a big stage.” Expressed Blaze who further encouraged other organisers for events to continue promoting upcoming artist like himself
























Asked what fans should expect after Mwinizinthu song, Blaze replied; “I am bringing the best than what my fans are expecting”

“When people are responding to your art positively it means you need to bring more and good things. So I would like to promise my fans more of good things. So, a single is coming soon but am not promising the date. “

He hinted “Am not going to share the title but it is going to be a traditional dance love piece of music”

The festival involved a lot of fan offering a family entertainment platform for children and parents. The festival lived to its promise with lots of food and of choice of music from accomplished artists and upcoming artists.

Meanwhile, Chimwemwe Matonga, director for Ovation Fusion Food and Music Festival said was happy with the turnout of people considering that this festival was first time of its kind in Malawi.


“This is a unique festival that blends and fuses element of food and music in one place.” He said and added “the festival has been a great success. We are hoping to make this an annual event”
