Cobbe Barracks Soldiers Not Happy With Bribes, Nepotism

Some military officers at Malawi's First Battalion Cobbe Barracks in Zomba have raised complaints over the increased cases of bribery among some officers serving in high rank positions.

The information sourced from some officers indicates that among the cases are the abuse of office, nepotism and bribery.

Sources who spoke on anonymity said the office of a Second from the Commanding Officer (2/IC) headed by Lieutenant Cornell (Lt Co ) Victor Kuyenda administration Unit of Zomba is at the helm of the matter.

Chinese Ambassador to Malawi condemns Japanese Prime Minister

As some Asian countries continue condemning Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe for paying homage to 14 Class-A war criminals at Yasukuni shrine on 26 December 2013, the Chinese Embassy in Malawi has joined other sister Diplomatic Offices across the world in condemning the Japanese Prime Minister’s calculated visit to the place.

The People’s Republic of China Ambassador to Malawi His Excellence PAN Hejun said in an interview that Abe’s visit to the war shrine reflects unremorseful to the Millions of Chinese who suffered the atrocities that Japan Militants committed during WW II.

Sunbird Search for a Star Grand Prize Winner Adrian Kwelepeta has finally released his debut single barely weeks after winning the singing competition on 14th December 2013 at Capital Marque in Lilongwe.

The Chichewa solo track titled Moyo Wanga has been released on yesterday 30th December and it is a song which Adrian performed in the night of 14th December as his victory song.

According to Adrian the track will be ready on 30th December this year and it is titled New Year.

James Nyondo Promises Tractors

National Salvation Front party NASAF has assured the Nation to transform Malawi’s Agriculture through mechanisation where each group of about 20 families will access a Tractor from soft loan that NASAF and its partners from United States of America (USA) would like to bring in this country.

YCF Declare Support For 2014 Young Aspirants

As a way of guarantee full representation of youth in every high positions of decision making in the country, Youth Consultative Forum YCF has vowed to support every young aspirant in upcoming 2014 Tripartite Elections.


The Malawi’s youth rights group has said together with other youth groups in the country are ready and have started supporting young candidates from various political affiliation. YCF Director Edward Chileka-Banda revealed this in an interview.


He said youth groups are providing moral and resource support to assist young candidates during the campaigns as doing so will provide more opportunities for young contenders to compete with other politicians without intimidation and other challenges.

NASAF Publicity Secretary Resign; Joins MCP

Publicity Secretary for National Salvation Front Party (NASAF) Mr. Joseph Mulungu has announced quit from the party and join Malawi Congress Party (MCP) to serve Dr. Chakwera as he believes the former party has lost its focus.

The General Secretary for NASAF has also confirmed the development.

Mulungu revealed that he has resigned when I tried to contact him on Monday to speak on NASAF matters, how ever he quickly responded that he is no longer with NASAF
