Sunbird Search for a Star Grand Prize Winner Adrian Kwelepeta has finally released his debut single barely weeks after winning the singing competition on 14th December 2013 at Capital Marque in Lilongwe.
The Chichewa solo track titled Moyo Wanga has been released on yesterday 30th December and it is a song which Adrian performed in the night of 14th December as his victory song.
Against earlier announcement made by the star on 23rd December that he was planning to record a song tilted New Year with a producer called Leme the track Moyo Wanga has been recorded in area 18 by DJ Slay.
According to the star he changed plans to work on New Year song with Leme due to reasons which he declined to disclose.
But talking of his Moyo Wanga an R&B hit, Adrian said the song is a true life story which he has experienced and is a dedication to his mom.
“The inspiration behind the song is my own life and it is a true life story. So I dedicate it to my mum because my life is closely associated with her and this is a story I wanted to share with the people as this is my pain and my passion.” Narrated Adrian
Adrian said he decided to record Moyo Wanga as it is in chichewa language so that his story can easily be heard by everyone.
Moyo Wanga talks about how his (single parent) mum struggles each day just to make sure things are alright at home.
The song also gives hope for those experiencing similar situation as the chorus forecast the good life ahead where part of chorus lyrics goes ‘My life/your life will never be the same (Moyo wanga/moyo wako siudzakhala chimodzimodzi)’
The production of Moyo Wanga has involved digitally programmed drum kits with the rest of instruments played live where Adrian a guitarist himself has played the guitar.
Adrian has promised his fans to expect good music from him and has urged fans to support him.
