The South African song bird Lira says her fans in Malawi should get ready for a memorable performance from her this Saturday night at Bingu International Conference Centre.
Lira lands in the country on Friday afternoon. He is coming to perform for the inaugural 'Blue Mingoli' music events platform of Standard Bank.
"I always call it the Lira experience" said Lira at a news conference
when describing kind of performance that her fans should expect and
confirmed "I would like to let everybody know that the show is on"
"We intend not only to
entertain but to give you something to remember. We are very passionate
of what we do" then added "We will really just leave you with something
that you are going to talk about all year hopefully"
On
Saturday Lira who is in the country with a nine band members is
expected to perform at Bingu International Conference Centre in the
Capital City Lilongwe where she is going to share stage with local
artist Lulu. However, Lira has admitted that she has not heard any of
Malawian music so far including that of Lulu because of difficulties to
access to African music which she said is a "frustrating" challenge.
"If you want to see something of excellent please come" said before doing a free style for her famous song 'Feel Good'
Speaking when welcoming Lira,
Margaret Chaika-Kubwalo the Bank's Head of Personal and Business Banking
said "We have no doubt that come tomorrow (Saturday), our customers and
other music loving Malawians will enjoy joining an audience of
like-minded people who will be entertained by Lira and supported by
Malawi's own contemporary music celebrity, Lawrence Khwisa, AKA Lulu.
Going forward, she said;
"Standard Bank would like to reiterate our commitment to Blue Mingoli as
our new music events platform. Blue Mingoli is here to stay. We will be
entertaining our customers with Blue Mingoli over the long term, while
moving their business and personal lives forward." Said Chaika
Chaika has indicated that there is a private event on Friday night a "pre-show event for some of Standard Bank top clients.

Since 2012 Standard Bank has been bringing artists including Zahara, Jimmy Dludlu and Earl Klugh but under.
This time it is Lira, a multi-talented music and modeling diva. Musically, her score includes 11 South African Music Awards (SAMA) trophies and an impressive performing and recording track record with six commercially successful albums.
