He said, led by Timveni officials, these artists will hold interface meetings with young people in Plan Malawi impact areas of Mzuzu, Kasungu, Lilongwe and Mulanje where they will gather stories from the children and young people on how different interventions by government and NGOs are benefiting them.

“The interactions will be on child trafficking, forced marriages, girls and youth empowerment. Said Makanda

He explains Four songs will be composed after the interface meetings highlighting the issues that young people and children are facing in their families and communities. After all the songs have been mastered, there will also be a production of music videos to amplify the children and youth voice through the songs.

He also mentioned that there will be debates on the stories gathered by the youth with various stakeholders on Timveni Radio and Timveni Television while other sessions will be held at other venues in Lilongwe where the youth will interact with various stakeholders.

“The Multimedia package production will be an audio visual report that will be in form of a CD and DVD which will be disseminated to various media platforms through Newspapers, Youth interface meetings and schools." Adds Makanda

Timveni Child and Youth Media Organisation works with different development partners in promoting the rights, responsibilities and talents of young people and children to help them participate fully in the national agenda. The organisation provides a forum for young people to speak out on issues affecting them and holding stakeholders accountable for their commitment towards promoting their wellbeing.
