Nervousness and waiting for the World’s famous Reggae music group, Morgan Heritage to come to Malawi is finally over, as three band members arrives in the country. This puts to an end all worries and possibility of having the show cancelled following postponement of their Zimbabwe and Senegal shows.
Brothers from The Royal Family of Reggae, Roy 'Gramps' Morgan, Peter 'Peetah' Morgan and Memmalatel “Mr. Mojo” Morgan are, expected to make their first time live performance to thousands of fans in Malawi this Sunday at Silver Stadium in the capital city, Lilongwe.
However, rhythm guitarist Nakhamyah "Lukes" Morgan and Keyboardist and vocalist, Una Morgan will miss the show.

Speaking to Journalists in Lilongwe on Saturday afternoon, the group's lead vocalist Peetah says the much anticipated performance on Sunday is going to be “Great” for the Group and the “People.”
He said performing in Malawi means everything to the group as also this means performing to Africa. He therefore said as “Africans from abroad” their coming to Malawi means “playing music for our family at home which is our people.”
“We are here, and we are excited about tomorrow night, and you will get the taste. Tomorrow is going to be an appetizer” His brother Gramps said

The Keyboardist and vocalist, Gramps used the word “appetizer” because earlier, Peter made disclosure that the group has plans for another “bigger” event later in 2016 here in Malawi, so, he said the event happening tomorrow “is introduction of Morgan Heritage to the people of Malawi”
Added his brother Mojo (percussion and vocalist) who was in the country some few months ago; “We are looking at sometime like in October next year, to come back. Not ourselves as Morgan Heritage with our band and everything, but we are going to be coming back with other artists to present a festival as Born African Productions and Morgan Heritage, working together again bringing music to Malawi.”
The group has also message of thanking Malawi fans for supporting the bands’ music for the years.
Among others, Gramps mentioned that the work and journey of the group in Africa to do music is also centered on clearing-up a lot misconception on the movement of Rastafari I by enlighten people the truth about the movement.
“We have to enlighten that Rasta is not a religion: it’s a way of life; that we believe in Good over evil, that is the base and the foundation of it is love. Our King ruler of our Christian Empire which is Ethiopia and the decree is man, woman and child. So within reggae music there are many nationalities, it is not everyone that does Reggae Music is a Rastafarian. So Reggae Music is not a Rasta thing, it is our people thing that will bring the world together and that is why we say Reggae music is music of the future.” Said Gramps who further clarified misconceptions that Rasta is only ‘male’ thing
The group arrived on Friday through Kamuzu International Airport.
The Group Arrives; in the country also to promote their latest album, Strictly Roots which has earned the group their first time Grammy Awards nomination for 2016.
The group says the title ‘Strictly Roots’ is not about reggae music but is about roots of everything in life and in every aspect of life.
“Roots is what life is about. Without roots you don’t have life and even when dealing with a problem you firstly have to find the roots” said Peter while Gramps concurred by saying “Like my brother said, when we say roots we are not saying roots music because at the end of the day what is roots music”
Gramps said ‘roots’ album contains words of empowering people of all races, and to make everybody get back in touch with their roots.
The Royal Family of Reggae, Morgan Heritage is in Malawi courtesy of Born Afrika Productions owned by a South Africa based Malawian. This is a third time for Born Afrika to bring to Malawi Jamaican music artists. Early this year, he brought Luciano and in 2014 he brought Fantan Mojah.
According to organizers for the event have assured that they are done with preparations and that security will be tightened at the event.
