9 Year Old Drowns in Salima District
A Standard 3 pupil of Matenje primary school Mateyu Chimchere of Mwari Village T/A Khombedza District Salima has suddenly died after drowning into a dam.
Salima Police says the deceased after nocking off from school on 18th February went together with friends to a nearby dam to swim.
Sergeant Gift Chitowe Salima Police Public Relations Officer says when swimming the 9 year boy went into the deepest part of waters and failed to swim.
Chitowe said the young boy died on the spot and postmortem results revealed that suffocation was the cause of the sudden death of the boy.
